The OSIAF-Armenia considers the introduction of innovative curricula on humanities and social sciences very significant for the country. Addressing this need, the Foundation has supported several programs at the Institutions of Higher Education.

Media Program

 

Yerevan Press Club has set to modify curricula for journalism studies, improve the academic process at the Journalism Department of the Yerevan State University and complement the courses offered at the Yerevan State Linguistic University with the following courses:

    1. Media Management
    2. Investigative Journalism
    3. News Reporting
    4. Advertisement in Mass Media
    5. Media Legislation: Regulation and Self-regulation
    6. Information and Communication Technologies and Society
    7. Media and Elections
    8. Media of South Caucasus
    9. On-line Journalism

Law Program

 

To address the need for upgrading the quality of legal education in universities, the Foundation supported development of courses on International Law at the Law Department of the Yerevan State University (YSU). The courses familiarize the future law professionals with the standards and requirements of the International HR Court. The initiative was institutionalized at the YSU through establishment of a Graduate Program in International Law at the Law Department. The following courses were developed and integrated into the Program:

    1. Freedom of Speech and Legal Regulation of Mass Media
    2. The Basics of the International Law Theory
    3. History of International Law
    4. International Law on Human Rights Advocacy
    5. The Law on International Organizations
    6. Diplomatic and Consular Law
    7. Procedures of the International Court
    8. International Criminal Law
    9. International Agreements in Armenian Legal System
    10. International Humanitarian Law

Public Health Program

 

Two courses have been developed by the American University of Armenia (AUA) to be taught at its Public Health Department:

    1. Health Program Planning and Implementation; School for Health Care Management and Administration (SHCMA)
    2. Basics of Health Planning

Arts and Culture Program

 

To improve the quality of both formal education and training of cultural administrators, art managers and students, the foundation supported development and implementation of the following courses by the Cadence Music Center at and the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts.

    1. Information and Internet Technologies in Culture
    2. The Basics of Economic Theory
    3. Basics of Management in Culture
    4. Marketing Management in the Field of Culture
    5. The Basics of Evaluation of Immaterial Values
    6. The Basics of Business and Electronic Commerce in Armenia
    7. Human Resources Management

Several courses for in-service training have been developed at the Cadence Music Center.
