For the development and approbation of 8 academic arts management courses, Information and Internet Technology in Culture, The Basics of the Theory of Economics, General Management in Culture, Law in the field of Culture, Marketing Management in the field of Culture, Staff Management in the Field of Culture, The Basics of Evaluation of Immaterial Values, The Basics of Business and Electronic Commerce in Armenia. Courses will include: a) the main narrative part with a maximum application of graphical and visual materials; b) testing tasks for self-checking and knowledge improvement; c) References and the database of addresses on the Internet regarding the corresponding topics; d) information on web-site. Courses will be approbated at the Department of Computer Graphics Arts Management and Advertisement of the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts and its branches in Gyumri, Vanadzor, Goris. Organizers have a preliminary agreement with the Ministry of Education and Science for opening a new specialization, arts manager, after successful approbation of this academic program. Grantee will cooperate with the Ministry of Culture and Education for methodic, methodological and expert’s assistance. In case of successful implementation of the project, the Ministry of Education will recommend courses for non-economic educational institutions for including them in their educational programs

Purpose:

 

For the organization of arts administration courses. Course structure is the following: 6 months of the academic study and 4 months of practicum (total 480 hours; 12 hours per week, classes - 3 times a week by 4 hours). Besides course subjects, the project include studying of course-takers in computer center, and participation in organization of arts and culture events. Project implies three main subjects: Arts and Culture Management (including also Financial Management and Legal issues), Marketing in Arts and Culture (including also E-Business and Public Relations), and English. First two months of the grant will be spent for finalization of curricula for each of the teaching subjects. Academic course will last from September to February, and the practicium will take place from March to June. After completion of the courses the participants have to pass examination and the successful ones will be given certificates. Organizers consider 12 trained art administrators as a moderate success and 20 - as a big success. Within this project the resource center for arts management books, soft and video materials will be created. During the grant period the organizers will create a special Educational Development Program Fund for accumulating financial resources for development of this project. Money for the Fund will be allocated from students' fees and different services provided by grantee. As a parallel activity grantee plans to organize summer schools (July-August), seminars and open classes in cooperation with Fine Arts Academy and other arts and culture institutions.
