This year, there will be a new type of activity - an open-air joint puppet performance “A Drop of Honey” dedicated to tolerance and peace issue, with participation of all participating theaters. For strengthening the joint activities of the structural units of the Sakharov Center and local NGOs in the sphere of protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms in the regions of the Republic of Armenia. The goal of the project is to raise the level of civil activity among the population, which in turn will guarantee protection of their own rights and freedoms through increasing the effectiveness of the activities of the Sakharov Center and local NGOs collaborating with it. Project Objectives: through trainings, seminars and joint public actions, raise the level of knowledge of Center’s co-workers, and local NGOs collaborating with the Center; provide free legal consultations and advocacy services to vulnerable groups of population and monitor the situation of HR protection and basic freedoms in the Republic of Armenia to ensure protection of civil and social rights; propose recommendations to improve laws, styles and methods of work of state bodies and self-governing bodies, in connection to the fact that some procedural acts, actions of certain representatives of law enforcement and judicial bodies and structures in practice contribute to mass violations of civil and social rights of people; through mass media bring to the notice of the relevant governmental bodies and that of the wider layers of the society the state of the human rights and the reasons leading to HR violation in Armenia; Improve the level of legal awareness and knowledge of the most vulnerable groups of the population |
